About Us:
abacaxi is a growing NYC-based fashion studio known for its innovative designs and creative approach. We’re seeking an Operations & Marketing Assistant to support our founder and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the business. Your Role & Responsibilities:
Operations & E-Commerce Support
• Oversee the shipping and processing of wholesale orders, coordinating with production partners as needed.
• Track and manage factory shipments, receive, and check in new inventory.
• Create and update UPC codes for specific retailers, ensuring products are properly cataloged.
• Assist with processing wholesale orders and liaise with factories to ensure timely fulfillment.
• Measure new styles and update e-commerce product descriptions in Shopify.
• Update and maintain wholesale platforms as needed.
• Review e-commerce sales analytics to suggest improvements for website updates or product listings.
Digital Marketing & Social Media Management
• Analyze current marketing efforts and suggest strategies to drive engagement and sales.
• Manage social media strategy, content creation, and posting schedules across all platforms.
• Develop and implement advertising strategies for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google Ads.
• Collaborate with the email marketing team to schedule campaigns and track analytics. Eventually, take over the email marketing process.
• Maintain content calendars for social media and email marketing teams.
• Work closely with the design team to create/curate content for campaigns, fashion shows, photoshoots, and other brand activations.
Internship Program Management
• Post internship listings on university job boards (RISD, Pratt, Brown, etc.), review applications, and conduct interviews for design, production, and marketing roles.
• Onboard and manage interns, ensuring they receive the proper training and guidance, particularly in marketing and social media.
Other Support
• Assist with production tasks during fashion shows and presentations, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
• Flexibility and adaptability are key as you may be asked to support a variety of other tasks as the role evolves.
What We’re Looking For:
• A proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills.
• Interest in fashion operations and digital marketing, with a focus on supporting the brand rather than creative design.
• Experience with Shopify, social media management, and/or small business operations is a plus.
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Start Date: December 2024
Position: Part-Time/Freelance (with potential to transition to Full-Time)
Rate: Hourly (commensurate with experience) + flexible hours, potential for full-time employment, + room for growth in both responsibilities and compensation after demonstrating success in the role.
